Visiting Athene

Three busses brought the delegations to the foot of the Akropolis. Divided in english-, french- and germanspeaking groups the hill of the Akropolis was climbed. One italian girl was lifted teh whole way up to the temple of Athene by Semir. (Who has a picture of this? Please send to kamhawi@coubertin.de. THX)

The First Delegations left

The delegations from Norway and Estonia had to leave. A great flood of tears flushed down the hill. The goodbye was very emotional, because very good friends had to go.

On Olympic footsteps

Leaving the Akropolis the group headed forward to the Olympic Stadium of 1896 - Panathinaiko Stadium. Under the guidance of Prof. Müller the visit was possible. Not only standing in front of the fence. The history was explained and lots of pictures were taken.

Big Party at the End

In the evening after shopping an relaxing a big party took place at the Lyzeum Pierre de Coubertin Pallini.

A band animated everybody to dance. In some corners couples of students could be found saying goodbye.

Back in the hotel Everybody got to bed.

No - there were still life! Groups sitting together, a birthdayparty, walks at the beach, smoking cigars … (Not everything is known.) Everything to manage the time to leave.
